Fans, pumps and generators are usually driven by 1 belts through the crankshaft. If the belt is too tight, it will worsen the wear of pump bearings and belt; if the belt is too loose, the belt will slip. Therefore, we should check and adjust the tightness of engine belt regularly.
When checking the elasticity of the engine belt, press the thumb on the drive belt between the camshaft and the two pulleys of the generator to exert certain pressure (generally 40N), and the deflection of the belt should meet the requirements (generally 12-15mm), otherwise the elasticity of the engine belt should be adjusted. You can also use two fingers to clamp the belt to make it twist, the twist angle should generally be below 90 degrees, otherwise should adjust the belt tightness.
The adjustment of the elasticity of the engine belt is shown in the following figure. The elasticity of the engine belt can be changed by loosening the fastening bolt of the tightening wheel or generator on the movable bracket and moving the generator outward or inward with a pry bar. After adjusting, tighten the fastening bolts of the tight wheel or generator on the mobile bracket.
